Character Name: Roxas
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Age: Appears to be 15, but has only actually existed for just a week shy of a year.
Appearance: He is a short, wiry teenager with blue eyes and spiky blond hair. His clothing preferences tend toward loose fitting and comfortable. Left to choose his own clothes, he'll wear light colors normally, but isn't averse to darker attire, though this may be force of habit.
Personality: His personality is not entirely his own. Roxas is generally friendly, if maybe a little awkward when meeting new people. He likes spending time with friends and seems awfully caring for someone who isn't supposed to have a Heart. He also really doesn't like to see his friends fighting with each other and will do what he can to defuse the situation.
He's fairly naïve as well, though this has more to do with having lived only a year than it does with his actual mental capacity. He's not stupid, per se, but he's no genius either. He's also very curious, probably for the same reason he is naïve.
While he does have some things in common with Sora, there are some differences. He isn't quite as impulsive. His is, however, more calculating, a little quicker to anger and more aggressive. This aggressiveness shows more in combat. One trait they have in common, though, is that neither of them likes being jerked around or misled. It's an especially sore point for Roxas.
History: Roxas came into being when Sora unlocked his own Heart into order to return Kairi's Heart. He appeared in Twilight Town, where Xemnas found him and named him. After that, he was introduced to Organization XIII, where he was given a title and a number in addition to his name.
Only a week after his own introduction, another was introduced. While Xion was given a name and a number, she was not given a title and did not have a seat in the meeting room called 'Where Nothing Gathers' nor did she ever sit in on any meetings. Roxas wound up supervising Xion on missions when Axel went to Castle Oblivion and the two became close, a bond that seemed to get even closer after Roxas spent several weeks comatose for unknown reason. It was after this that Axel also began spending time with the two of them.
Over time, Roxas began to experience Sora's memories and found himself wondering why exactly he was able to use the Keyblade. Who had he been before losing his Heart? His impatience grew as his fellow Nobodies refused to answer his questions, these answers having been his main reason for joining the Organization in the first place. He was not alone in seeking answers, though, as Xion had her own questions and soon left to find them.
Roxas soon decided he would leave as well, but before finally making up his mind, he went to Axel for some answers as he had been suspecting for some time that Axel was keeping something from him. Axel didn't answer any of his questions, which helped him to finally make up his mind and leave.
After this, he encountered Xion in Twilight Town. In the course of their conversation, she revealed that she was actually a replica of Sora made from some of Sora's memories as a back up plan should either Sora or Roxas not be viable for Xemnas's plans. They couldn't coexist, no matter that they wanted to. One of them had to go, or rather, be absorbed by the other. Xion intended to absorb him and then go find Sora. Or at least, that was what she said before the fight...
After the battle, she admitted that she had actually intended to disappear herself. The battle was a ruse, since she knew Roxas wouldn't be able to kill her. She also told him he wouldn't remember her. The only thing he would later remember is what she tells him of the Organization's true goals, which he doesn't agree with, and the fact that they must be stopped.
With his newly acquired ability to wield two Keyblades, he set out to do just that, encountering a horde of Neoshadows as he reached Memory's Skyscraper. He didn't quite fight them alone Riku showed up at this point. As soon as the Heartless were cleared out, they turned on each other. Roxas won, but after an exchange of words, Riku fell back on another power he really hadn't wanted to use. Taking on the form of the Seeker of Darkness, he was able to easily out maneuver Roxas, allowing the Guardian to catch a hold of him and choke him into unconscious, only for Roxas to awaken in...
Supernatural Abilities: Roxas can wield two Keyblades with notable skill, though some times he will only use one. In either case, this won't be as easy to do in the city. Summoning one Keyblade will be taxing and time consuming (10 seconds or more) to begin with. Summoning two... he might only do so as a last resort as it will leave him very drained, if not unconscious. It would also depend on his health. If he's exhausted or injured, he may not even be able to call on one Keyblade. Any keychains/gears he has will not change the Keyblade either. Although the Keyblade can open many locks and seals, these abilities are noticeably weakened, though Roxas is not exactly aware of these abilities to begin with.
He can use magic and is able to cast some of the higher level spells although even unrestricted, his ability could use a little polishing. In the city, he'll be limited to only casting a couple of spells a day unless he's sorely pressed, in which case, it would be the same as forcing it with two Keyblades. As with the Keyblades, his overall condition will be a deciding factor.
Whether it's a magic ability or not, he is also able to form and control shields made of Light. In Chicago, he may only be able to summon a few as opposed the thirteen he can normally summon, if he can summon any at all.
Like any Nobody, he has the ability to travel through Corridors or portals of Darkness. These will not come as easily to him in Chicago and may be a bit riskier than they would be normally.
Natural Abilities: The Keyblade does give him some boosts to strength, but these are all but gone in the city. His speed, strength and stamina are above average, but in a purely physical contest, he could be over powered by a significantly stronger or faster foe. He does possess a decent level of competence in sword skills, both with one weapon and when dual wielding, though he could use to learn a little more about defense when dual wielding.
Possessions: Among the big pockets in his coat Roxas has some munny, some items he would normally hand over to Mooglex to have him make some useful things, a couple of potions and other healing items, his various keychains/gears and a couple of magic rings that normally provide resistances to elemental magics. The rings have no power now. In addition, easily hidden by his long coat is a slim belt bag in which he keeps a change of clothes.
First-person POV journal sample: So this is how people are communicating here? Okay.
Does anyone happen to know how I got here? Or how I can get back to where I was for that matter?
Actually, maybe the better question is: Where is here? I've seen small towns that were a little more... alive... than this. Where is everyone?
Third-person POV rp sample: Fighting past Saix to get out of the castle hadn't been as bad as he'd feared when the man had turned up blocking his path. Whatever had happened in between then and now hardly mattered other than it being how he had learned that the Organization had to be stopped. Roxas decided he would figure it out later because now...
Now he had a problem. On his way back to the castle to deal with the Organization, he had encountered someone that he suspected his Other may have known, but he wasn't quite sure and it was beside the point anyway. The guy was barring his way and wanted him to go elsewhere. Refusing had lead to a fight, which Roxas was winning, but damn if it wasn't turning out to be a pain in the butt. It might also mean putting his own plans on hold because, winning or no, he was injured and he knew he wasn't going to be up to taking on the Organization this way. His opponent was the worse off and that left him with a small conundrum. If he just let this guy go, he'd probably be there to get in the way again. But, could he really kill him? Logically, he probably should, but there was another clue that his Other had known the guy. He didn't want to kill this knucklehead.
His hesitance would cost him. They had words briefly after a particularly rough exchange of blows and the other guy called him by a different name... and seemed satisfied with the response. He also seemed to realize he was between a rock and hard place and that was when he went for his trump card. Where exactly he could have been keeping all that Darkness, Roxas didn't want to know. He wouldn't get a chance to find out either. The demonic looking Heartless type thing hanging over his opponent's shoulder proved to be quite the threat. It was powerful and both the creature and its master were too fast. The thing caught Roxas up in one of its large hands and squeezed as though wringing out a kitchen sponge. Roxas wasn't sure which was worse: the crushing pain or the fact that he couldn't breathe, but soon neither was an issue as the latter lead to an almost merciful loss of consciousness.
Waking up underneath a large, round, metallic... thing was kind of low on his list of what he expected to happen next. Actually, it wasn't even the list, but at the moment he was too hurt and tired to care...
